Indore: As the state government is gearing up for preparations of Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2016 slated to commence from October 22, Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN) plans to organise a 'Global CEO Conclave' a day before its inaugural session. According to official sources, the industry department is planning to rope in senior executives of big corporates with an exclusive dinner on October 21.
In the two-day summit, country sessions on various sectors including textile, automobile, tourism, electronic system design and manufacturing (ESDM), renewable energy and other areas will be held. "Conclave will give a platform to senior executives of big firms to interact with the state government and will give them an opportunity to learn more about the state," said Kumar Purushottam, MD, AKVN. With focus on roping in as many foreign countries as possible AKVN has been in touch with many countries. Official sources said Japan and Singapore have confirmed their participation as country partners and the number of partners is expected to increase.
Earlier this month, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had inaugurated the website of Global Investors Summit (GIS) at New Delhi to invite registrations for the same. "After the website launch, we have been getting registrations for the summit. We have planned invitations on the basis of registrations. Focus will be on growth of small and medium scale industries this time, which would create employment on large scale," said AKVN officials.
During the three-day summit, Bhopal is likely to host a session on small scale industries. About 2,000 delegates are expected to participate in the mega event. Previously, GIS-2014 witnessed participation of 200 captains of industry, 6,000 business delegates and 500 foreign delegates from 32 countries across the globe. Official website states that the state received 3,171 investment interests during the GIS-2014, amounting to Rs 5.89 lakh crore.
